A traditional netherlands Aak vessel

In 2013, years after having met during our studies of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany, we, Lars Göldner and Benjamin Sternkopf, went for our first joint sailing tour on a traditional Lemsteraak sailing ship. This experience show how we envision the future of maritime traffic: efficient, eco-friendly and silent.

This event, that has been repeated often afterwards, sparked our idea of combining these feats together with the versatility of a motor driven vessel. To help companies and societies, we started the project Stable Shore Power.

Taking a long-term perspective, OPS (Onshore Power Supply) does have an important role to play, provided that society is willing to solve the environmental and health problems caused by shipping. – Clean North Sea Shipping 2014 Final Report

We believe that waiting is not an option to face the current global ecologic challenges. Even where a grid extension currently is too expensive or too time consuming, we enable Onshore Power Supply (OPS) to harbors today.
